I think he's a P.S.O. actually. Not quite sure.

Protective Services Officers look after places like State Parliament. There's a big debate in Victoria about them being recruited to play the peacemakers at train stations. Some of them will even get to carry guns.

I found him to be a generally happy, nice guy in a couple of brief times that I spoke with him. But subsequent events have me wondering if he is efficient in creating a sense of peace or good order.

Rail guards? Aren't they all fat assholes who were too unfit or stupid to join the police force?
From memory the rail guards in Sydney were created after 9/11 presumably to provide some level of protection against terror attacks. Since we don't have any such attacks they just wander around giving people fines for putting their feet on the seats or saying 'fuck'.
